MEET THE CAST

A talented artist since childhood, Jerry Lawler traded his pencil for wrestling tights and never looked back. A brash, charismatic brawler with a knockout right hook, he fights with pure grit, raw determination, and just enough luck to stay standing. He’s destined to seize the crown and become the undisputed King of Memphis Wrestling...but he’s got a long, hard road and the toughest fighters in the world to go through to get there.
Straight out of high school, Jimmy Hart tasted fame with his band The Gentrys, chasing chart success one single at a time. Years of pursuing the next hit left him restless...until fate threw him together with Jerry Lawler. Friend then manager, the two form an unstoppable alliance set on reaching the top of Memphis wrestling. But every climb to the summit of glory has a price…and just how much are they prepared to sacrifice to reach it?
Hailing from Australia and packing more attitude than his shorter stature should allow, Bill Dundee earned the nickname “Superstar” from his adoring fans...though Jerry Lawler insists the cocky Aussie gave it to himself. Equal parts fearless fighter and charming heartthrob, Dundee lights up the territory every time he steps through the ropes. With Lawler he’s both tag-team partner and constant rival, the two spending as much time at each other’s throats as they do watching each other’s backs.
Revered as one of the greatest commentators the sport has ever known, Lance was a Memphis native who stepped behind the microphone in 1959 and spent nearly four decades calling the action with unmatched dignity and sharp insight. Together with his partner Dave Brown, they narrate this tale as a modern-day chorus of the gods watching the long, messy, beautiful, heartbreaking story of Jerry Lawler and Jimmy Hart unfold from a place outside of time.
From the teapots of Trenton to the Memphis airwaves, Dave Brown built a dual legend: Emmy-winning meteorologist by day, electrifying wrestling co-host by night. For twenty-five years he shared the booth with Lance Russell, their chemistry turning Saturday mornings and Monday Nights into must-watch primal theater. Now he joins Lance as co-narrator of this story, bringing the same energy, wit, and front-row passion that once made Memphis wrestling feel larger than life.
